How can l install and run FoodWorks on a Mac?

Prerequisites

Ensure you have:

  • Parallels Desktop 11 installed
  • The Windows 10 image file saved on your Mac or the Windows 10 USB drive plugged in.

Step 1 - Install Windows

To install Windows using Parallels Desktop:

  1. Run Parallels Desktop.
  2. Sign in and activate Parallels Desktop.
  3. You will see the following window. Click Install Windows or another OS from a DVD or image file and click Continue.
  4. If you are installing Windows from a DVD disc or a USB drive, insert the disc or plug in the USB drive now.
  5. Parallels should automatically find the Windows operating system. If not, choose Locate manually.
     
  6. Follow the instructions to locate the Windows operating system. Once located, click Continue.
  7. Enter the Windows Product Key and click Continue.
  8. Choose Productivity and click Continue.
  9. Enter a name for the virtual machine. Check Share with other users of this Mac if you want other users on your Mac to have access your virtual machines and click Continue.

    NOTE: Check Customize settings before installation if you want to change the hardware setting, i.e. CPU, RAM and hard disk etc.
  10. Follow the instructions to complete the Windows installation.
  11. The Windows icon will appear in the dock when the installation process is finished and Windows is running.

Step 2 - Download and install FoodWorks on Windows

  1. Click the Windows 10 Applications icon in the dock.
  2. Go to Modern Apps then click Microsoft Edge.
  3. Type in xyris.com.au in the address bar and press Enter.
  4. Click the Download tab.
  5. Click the green Download now button to start the download.
  6. Follow the instructions to install FoodWorks.

Step 3 - Run FoodWorks

  1. Click the Windows 10 Applications icon in the dock.
  2. Then click FoodWorks.

NOTE: A FoodWorks icon will appear in the Dock. If you want to access FoodWorks more quickly next time, you can keep the icon in the dock by right-clicking the FoodWorks icon. Click Options and click Keep in Dock.
